The course is quite challenging at the beginning and not recommended for children under 9 due to its length. It includes two dam slides (Langeac and Le Chambon) and numerous beaches for breaks and swimming.
Sights to see from the river: Chapel of Ste Marie des Chazes, village and abbey of Chanteuges, cliff of Blot, hilltop village of Chilhac, peninsula and enclosure of the priory of Lavoute-Chilhac.
